Sally and Melia from Shire Choir are back with their sold-out storytelling and song concept FATE AND FABLE, where emerging and established writers, artists, performers and creatives are invited to respond to a prompt - the title of a popular song. This time it's Nirvana's 90s anthem 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'. Expect the unexpected, a cabaret of the mind, a call to the wild, a night of nostalgia. In the immortal words of Kurt Cobain: "Here we are now, entertain us." If you love music, trivia, stories (tall and true) come as you are to Fate and Fable, Friday 5 April at the Bangalow RSL Hall. In September and October 2023, Shire Choir hit the road to bring the joy of collective singing to historic halls in the Northern Rivers - @newrybarhall, @coorabellhall2479, @eurekahall2480 and @brunswickpicturehouse Over 1000 locals attended shows across four delightful venues to sing their hearts out with @melianaughton and the Birrell Bros Band. The tour was made possible by @byronshirecouncil, and Shire Choir brought local filmmaker Sharon Shostak along for the ride to capture every magical moment. The result is Shire Choir's Community Feelgood Tour film - 13 minutes of happy humans and heartfelt harmony. Shire Choir’s Community Feelgood Tour film will be screened at the @bangalowfilmfestival at 5pm on Friday 15 March as a part of the Sounds of the Shire Choir’s 'A Love Letter to Musicals' interactive performance.
